Tom Ford Eye Defining Liquid Liner Pen Review

Tom Ford Eye Defining Liquid Liner Pen Review

Back at it again! Today, I'll be discussing the most expensive eyeliner that I own. It's the Tom Ford Eye Defining Liquid Liner Pen in the shade Deeper (01). For a winged-eyeliner rookie like myself, this product is manna from makeup heaven! Obviously, it can't do the job for you, but trust me when I say this, it'll make it very easy. I have used/tested several eyeliners in the past and this one is hands down, my favorite liquid eyeliner. According to Tom Ford's website, you can create a spectrum of looks; from a classic sleek line to a dramatic wing and an alluring doe-eyed look.

The packaging is beautiful and the pen will feel luxurious in your hands. It has more weight than other liquid eyeliners, but definitely not to the point where it's difficult to use it.

The color is the deepest darkest black possible which I personally love. The pigmentation is very rich. It has a wet look when you apply because of the intense color, but it dries down quickly to a beautiful matte finish.

It is a dual-ended liquid liner with a calligraphy and a brush tip. My favorite side is the brush tip. I lined my upper eyelid with it and the waterline with the calligraphy tip. You can also use the calligraphy tip for tightlining (upper eyelid). There is no hard and fast rule, and you can work with either tip to line your lids.

Using the brush tip, I felt the application was smooth as butter. It provided more control for precision. It's easy to make a flick! I admit it's a brand new liquid liner pen, but never have I achieved a look without having issues with non-uniformity. The even flow will ensure that you get a crisp dark line. It is not at all patchy. This brush tip is great for thin lines but you can definitely build up to get a thick line or opt to use the calligraphy tip. When you are using the eyeliner, you will realize how fluid it is without applying any pressure. The pigmentation, as I mentioned earlier, is so rich that if you are opting for a thin line, a single stroke will suffice and you'll be done in no time!

Here's an image of a thin line using the brush tip.

I decided to put the brush tip to the test for a dramatic effect and here is the result.

I wore it to work and tested the longevity for over 8+ hours. I am happy to report that there was no crumbling, smudging or flaking! This liner is waterproof as well. It stayed throughout the day without losing its intensity. It is easy to remove with any makeup removing wipe, oil or cream.

If I were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring one product with me, it'd definitely be an eyeliner as, without one, I actually look ill or tired! Hence, I tend to splurge on eye products. I've used different types of eyeliners over the years, and this Eye Defining Liquid Liner Pen by Tom Ford has really blown my mind. If I could give it a letter grade, I'd give it an A+!

The eyeliner retails for $57 and is worth every penny. I got mine from Sephora. It is definitely an investment and one that you would not regret, especially if you struggle with winged eyeliners like I do. If you think the price is too steep for an eyeliner, there are of course other brands such as Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner and Kat Von D Tattoo Liner that are really good. I have been using these two for years until I discovered this beauty. I have also used Maybelline's Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner which is good for the price.

I hope you enjoyed reading today's post on Tom Ford's liquid liner. I will say it again, it is my holy grail eyeliner as of 2017! Until next time, stay safe and happy!
