Kylie Cosmetics - Birthday and Vacation Collection
Hello, fellow makeup lovers! Happy November! Since my favorite month is here, I am just happy in general! Today's post is going to be about Kylie Cosmetics. I have a love-hate relationship with Kylie Cosmetics. While the makeup is decent, the customer service has a long way to go. I have tons of makeup from Kylie Cosmetics but decided to focus on the Birthday and Vacation Collection today. I will be discussing the Take Me On Vacation Kyshadow Palette and the Twenty Lip Kit from the Birthday Collection. Both are currently still available on Kylie Cosmetics' website. I had earlier assumed that they were limited edition but since they've been on her site for quite some time now, I am guessing they are part of her permanent line. At least, the Take Me On Vacation Kyshadow Palette looks like it has been made permanent.
Take Me On Vacation Kyshadow - I love the color selection of shades on this palette. It comes with a dual-ended brush which is not bad. I seldom use brushes that come with palettes but I've used this one quite a bit to blend my eyeshadows. The shades are pigmented and will last you for a good 8-9 hours without creasing or fading. This is my second palette from Kylie Cosmetics and I really love it. My first one was The Royal Peach Palette which I honestly preferred over the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette. The packaging on this palette is very beautiful. Kylie Jenner ensures her packaging is always on point and this palette is no exception. It comes with a mirror. I have not faced any issues with fallout based on the couple of times that I have used this palette. This eyeshadow palette has a good mix of warm and cool toned shadows including a few pastel shades. It released in the summer but I am pretty sure I will be wearing it in winter as well. The shadows blend well, hence, I'd not bother if they didn't swatch like a dream. I've said this several times that swatches are not the right way to judge a palette. Judge it by its performance on your eyes! This palette retails for $52 on Kylie Cosmetics' website. Grab it if you are on the fence and you won't be disappointed.
Twenty Lip Kit - A gorgeous mid-tone rose brown that looks amazing on medium to dark skin tones. It's part of the Birthday Collection that released early August. If your aura is baby pink, you would dig this collection! I personally only wanted to get the lip kit as that was the only product that I had my eyes on. The Lip Kit comes with a matte liquid lipstick and a creamy lip liner. It retails for $30 and I think that extra $1 is for the packaging! I have started to like Kylie Cosmetics' liquid lipsticks, hence, my collection has been growing since the time she launched her brand. The matte liquid lipsticks are a bit drying, but, it's not a deal-breaker for me. They are long-lasting and I love the variety of shades. Most have worked for me in the past and some have not. That's one of the main reasons I prefer buying my lipsticks from a retail store where I can actually swatch the shade before purchasing it. Also, like I said, Kylie Cosmetics does not have a great customer service so if you are not happy with your purchase, you are stuck with it. I have received a blunt pencil and a frayed gloss wand in the past and the customer service representative made some lame excuse to not exchange the products for me. For the most part, I understand that because it is an independent brand, however, Sephora has spoiled us with their awesome customer service! Oh well. If you are a fan of matte liquid lipsticks and love mauve or rose brown shades, you'd love this one. Apply a lip balm or primer before using this liquid lipstick since it is a bit drying. I always touch up after a meal and it was not an exception with this liquid lipstick.
That's all for today! Stay tuned for my next blog which will be on Sephora's VIB Rouge Sale! Have a great week ahead!
