Hi.

Welcome to my blog. Take a peek into my world of beauty and makeup. Hope you have a nice stay!

Sephora Collection - What's in my travel bag? II

Sephora Collection - What's in my travel bag? II

In my last post, I had mentioned that there are two other products I wanted to discuss a bit in detail. The products I will be discussing today are the Color Switch By Vera Mona Brush Cleaner and the Shine Only From Within Blotting Paper Compact. These products are part of the Sephora Collection. I purchased these two prior to my travel and I am glad because I used both of them when I was in Chicago. They are both super affordable. The instant brush cleaner can come in handy when you don't have multiple brushes to spare when applying eyeshadows. This non-messy, easy to use cleaner will definitely wow you! The second product that I am going to discuss is for people with combination to oily skin. That 4 pm shine look is not a good one, so these blotting papers will help with that.

Color Switch By Vera Mona Brush Cleaner - Let me start by saying that this product is legit and works beautifully. Do not confuse this with a brush cleanser as it's not meant to disinfect or deep clean your brushes. The sole purpose of this magical tin is to swiftly clean them in between use. Simply swipe the brush over the sponge to clean and reuse. I spot clean my brushes using the MAC Brush Cleanser bottle or deep clean them using a body wash over the weekends. I use this sponge during the week. You can flip the side you are using if it becomes dirty to use the other side. You can clean the sponge with warm water and soap or a brush cleaning solution. I got mine in the travel size because I mostly use it when I am traveling and cannot carry a lot of brushes. The quality is good so I don't see this sponge fraying anytime soon. I have been using it for quite a few months and I think it does the job really well. I'd assume it's definitely a staple product in any MUA's kit who is starting out and does not own a gazillion brushes! I am sure it can be used to clean a blusher brush as well though I haven't tried it yet. I use it for eyeshadows only and it works for me.

Shine Only From Within Blotting Paper Compact - Let me get straight to the point. The main reason for me to love this compact so much is because the blotting papers come with a cosmetic puff applicator and a mirror. This simply means that you do not have to touch the blotting paper which is great if you are on the go and don't have access to soap and water! This compact contains 100 charcoal bamboo blotting papers. It's great to get rid of the afternoon or late evening shine without removing the makeup. The size is quite small so it fits easily in your handbag. Pick up a blotting paper using the applicator and lightly dab it on your skin to remove excess oil. Needless to say, this product is meant for combination to oily skin. It's ideal for the summer season when the skin gets oily and also has the tendency to attract dust particles. The compact is sleek and sturdy. It's extremely cost-effective and one of the best blotting papers I have used till date. The refills are sold separately so you can still retain the applicator after the blotting papers get over. I am very happy with my purchase.

Coming to the price, I bought the travel version of the Color Switch brush cleaner for $12. However, Sephora has removed the travel size (2 oz) option and you can buy the full size (4 oz) for $18. The Shine Only From Within Blotting Paper Compact only cost me $5! However, it looks like the applicator is out of stock on Sephora or being discontinued. Though, you can purchase the refills for $8. There are four options to choose from including bamboo charcoal. This concludes my travel bag beauty products series. I hope you enjoyed reading my two series posts. Have a good rest of your week!
